Did you know that God loves you and has a plan for your life?
I would like to share a verse with you: “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
You may have read that verse before, but you are included in that statement! If you were to take your name and place it where “the world” is at, that verse would still be as true. Go ahead, try it and read it back to yourself.
So how do we receive God’s love and forgiveness into our life?
First, you must admit that you are a sinner. The Bible says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Sin is falling short of God’s standards. Since God is perfect, all people fall into this category and are in need of God’s forgiveness. According to Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." We can never be good enough to fix this problem ourselves. If we could save ourselves, Jesus' death would have been unnecessary!
But listen, I have some great news for you! What you could never do for yourself, Jesus Christ has done for you! "But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!" (Romans 5:8). He died on the cross for you and then rose from the dead on the third day because He was God. It is only through Him that we receive this forgiveness. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one come to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).  He was sinless, but died for you so that you could be forgiven of your sins. That is how great God’s love is!
You can receive God’s forgiveness today by turning away from your sins and trusting in Jesus as your Lord and Savior. You don’t have to work for it, and you cannot earn it. It is a gift that God offers freely to anyone who will receive it. "The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23).
At this moment I would like to extend to you an invitation to receive Jesus into your life. Here is a prayer that you can pray if it represents the desire of your heart:
“Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that You love me and want to save me. Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God, who died on the cross to pay for my sins. I believe God raised You from the dead. I now turn from my sin and, by faith, receive You as my personal Lord and Savior. Come into my heart, forgive my sins, and save me, Lord Jesus. In Your name I pray, Amen.”
